Mandir Jalapa Mai Mandir Jalapa Mai is situated in Sangirathi Village, on the on Bilaspur-Shimla Road. It is situated at a distance of approximately 14 km from the Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh. Located amidst picturesque hills, the temples stands enclosed within a 10 ft high wall. The original name of the deity of the temple was Goddess Sukirti and later, gave rise to Sagirthin. It is said that a Chandel King installed the black-colored idol of the Goddess here, while on his way to Mata Jawalamukhi. The priests of the temple came all the way from Chanderi with him and later settled in the village here.

Raja Deep Chand got the temple complex built, in the latter half of the 17th century. There is a very interesting legends associated with the deity. According to the book on history of the Kings of Bilaspur, written by Shashi Vans Vinod, there was once a king called Raja Sail Chand, who had two queens named Hemvati and Devmati. Rani Hemvati performed Sati on the death of her husband and committed herself to flames in his funeral pyre. She was later called Sagirthin and became the family goddess (Kuldevi) of the rajas. This shrine has a natural source of flowing water too.
