Ayurveda offers a plethora of therapies for those who are genuinely interested in getting an ayurvedic therapy in Kerala. There are various therapies in Ayurveda that aim at primarily one thing - better living. These therapies aim at healing people with natural methods so that not only the body but also the mind and soul are cleansed. In Kerala, Ayurveda program aims at providing dedicated services that will cure the biggest killer, stress. Abhyangam
In this, a special type of oil massage is given in which, the body is gently rubbed and stroked according to the disease/problem. This massage lasts 45 minutes per day and is done for 14 days. Usually, people suffering from obesity or diabetic gangrene are given this treatment.

Dhara
In this treatment, certain herbal oils, medically treated milk, buttermilk etc. are poured on the forehead of the person like a slow stream concentrated on one point. This is done for 45 minutes per day and is carried on for 7-20 days, depending on the person. This treatment is sought to treat symptoms like chronic headaches, insomnia, mental tension and hysteria.

Nasyam
This therapy is highly effective in curing all kinds of nasal ailments and other problems arising due to those. Medicated oils and herbal juices are applied in the nose for a period of 7-14 days, varying from individual to individual. This treatment is said to cure ailments like sinus, bronchitis, asthma, etc.

Njavarakizhi
In this type of treatment, the whole body or some specific parts are made to perspire thus pushing out the toxins out of the body. The body is made to perspire by applying the paste of medicated herbs wrapped in a muslin bag. Usually, 2-4 therapists apply this for 60-90 minutes per day. The treatment lasts for a period of 14 days. This method is effective in the treatment of rheumatism, sports injuries, pain in the joints, injured muscles and body parts, etc.

Pizhichil
This treatment is done by applying lukewarm herbal oils all over the body by trained specialists in an even manner, following a certain rhythm. This relaxing massage is done for around 60-90 minutes per day, for a time period of 7-21 days depending on the individual. This treatment is effective in curing ailments like spondilysis, arthritis, paralysis, nervous disorders, etc.

Snehapanam
In this treatment, medicated ghee is given internally and the quantity is increased gradually and in proportion for a period of 8-12 days. Ailments like osteoarthritis, psoriasis and leukemia are cured much by this treatment.

Udvarthanam
In this treatment, a typical massage with herbal powder is given to a person for about 45 minutes, for a period of 14-28 days. This treatment is effective in curing diseases like paralysis and other rheumatic illness.
