Later on some additions were made to the lake by the Mughal emperors Jehangir (Daulat Bagh Gardens) and Shahjahan (Baradari, a marble pavilion) to enhance the beauty of the lake.

At the east bank of the lake, stands the City Palace surrounded by an array of marble temples, mansions and palaces and a number of bathing ghats.

Sardar Samand Lake
Situated approximately 60 km from Jodhpur, is the beautiful Sardar Samand Lake. Maharaja Umaid Singh got this lake constructed in 1933.
